Inventory Import Fields - Common Questions

The Item File Column Format list for Tools -> Import -> Import Inventory Items has some fields that users occasionally have questions about.

The Description field is for the name of your product. The Catalog Description field is a longer section of text that will be used if you have a tie-in to an e-commerce platform, otherwise Catalog Description can be left blank.

The Reference ID field is for an ID assigned by a previous software system. It is not required, so it can be left blank.

When selecting the Import Type, Full Import will erase all of your existing items and replace them with those in your CSV file. Partial Import will add to your existing set of items. If the Item Code matches an existing item, it will be updated.
