Delete GL Account(s)
General ledger entries and GL accounts can only be deleted one at a time.
To remove GL accounts go to Ledger -> Accounts. Select the account you'd like to delete and click the Delete button.
Deleting GL accounts won't delete general ledger data that may exist under the account. Transactions that use deleted accounts will still appear in the Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss Statement reports.
If you need to purge all GL accounts, you can do so by going to Tools -> Import -> Import Accounts. Select Full for the Full Import option. This will remove all GL accounts permanently and replace them with the selected set of new accounts. Past GL transactions that tie to purged GL accounts will not be included in report totals.
